An Eagle Award for Excellence in Construction, that is. Notch received the award from the Rhode Island Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) for work that Notch completed at the Bradley Energy Center, a combined cooling, heating and power (CCHP) plant.

2010 NOTCH Pipe Welding Challenge Results

During the final competition of the 12th Annual Notch Pipe Welding Challenge on Wednesday, May 12th, Chris Shigley, a junior at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School in Marlborough, MA, won the distinction of first place “Top Notch” welder. Ironically, Chris’ older brother Mike Shigley took home this honor two years in a row during 2007 & 2008 years. One might say that strong welding skills run in the Shigley family genes!
