Notch Mechanical Constructors.

History

1972
Notch Welding was founded as a sole proprietorship in 1972 by Roger Neveu. At that time, there were only 3 employees. Roger started his career as a pipefitter-welder working for an industrial boiler service company. Based on this experience, he decided to focus his new business on the industrial heating and piping market. The company operated out of Roger’s home near the Amherst-Granby notch in the Holyoke Range, which was the origin of the company name.

1976
By 1976, the company had grown to 8 employees and it was decided to incorporate under the name of Notch Welding & Mechanical Contractors, Inc. Its primary market was the industrial sector of western Massachusetts.

1992
In 1992, Notch built its current 15,000SF office and fabrication shop in Chicopee, MA to accommodate the growing staff and expand the its pre-fabrication capabilities.

1995
In 1995, Notch expanded its geographic service in the western New England region to allow the company to continue to grow while maintaining within its specialty piping focus.

2000
In 2000, the second generation of the Neveu family purchased the company from Roger. Five of his seven children formed the new ownership team to carry the company into the future.

2002
In 2002, the company adopted the trade name of Notch Mechanical Constructors to better reflect its increasingly sophisticated project capabilities.
